Wilfried Meert, the Meeting Director of the Brussels IAAF Golden League meeting has announced that three time Olympic champion Marion Jones will run the 100m at the Ivo Van Damme Memorial in Brussels on 5 September 2003. The news leaked today in London when boyfriend Tim Montgomery, the men’s World 100m record holder mentioned it during a press conference prior to tomorrow evening’s IAAF Super Grand Prix meeting in Crystal Palace, London. "She is getting ready, she is excited," Montgomery was quoted as saying.
Meert says that Montgomery came up to him in Stockholm at the IAAF Super Grand Prix meeting on Tuesday to tell him that Marion wanted to run in Brussels, 10 weeks after giving birth to Tim Jnr. on 28 June.
